Who We Are

At Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area (HFHMCA), we build safe, decent, affordable houses that are purchased with a 30-year 0% interest mortgage. Since 1986, we've partnered with over 600 families in Hinds, Rankin and Madison counties to build strength, stability and self-reliance through homeownership.

We’re more than a housing nonprofit, we’re an economic engine. For every dollar spent building a Habitat home, $1.90 is returned to the local economy, creating lasting value for families and the community.

Our Mission

Love in Action

We seek to put God's love into action. We bring people together to build homes, communities and hope

How It Works

Habitat MCA brings people together to help families build their own homes and purchase them with a 30-year-zero-interest mortgage. Homeowners contribute 125 hours of 'sweat equity' by working alongside volunteers to construct their future homes. They take financial education, good neighbor and do-it-yourself classes

We rely on community partnerships, volunteer labor and donations of funds and materials to make our work possible. Together, we’re not just building houses, we’re building brighter futures.

Our Impact

Since our founding, we've helped over 600 families achieve their dreams of homeownership. Building and renovating in Hinds, Rankin & Madison Counties with the help of thousands of volunteers changing countless lives.
